First Photo Challenge: Rule of Thirds

2_rule_of_thirds_09

Original Rule of Thirds Post

For your first photo challenge, you take a picture that illustrates your mastery of the concept of Rule of Thirds. Remember that the subject of the image, and the parts of the image you want the viewer to look at must be placed along the intersection of one of the tic-tac-toe type lines that you put in front of your image.

Do not center up your subject, but have them off to the left or the right.

Also make sure your image is straight, and cropped.

After adjusting your images in Photoshop, upload pictures to FLICKR, then add them to HHS Photography group.

Practice Photo is due before Wednesday, 9/14. Final Image is due posted to Google Classroom on or BEFORE Friday,9/16

First Assignment: FOCUS

1599112_10153748543717324_7558233012374400137_o

For your first assignment, you will choose a subject and take two pictures of that subject. The photos will look the same, except for the fact that one will be blurry and the other will be in sharp focus.

Look at the photos above, notice that the one on the left you can clearly see the eye in sharp focus. The image on the right is blurry.

You can use the zoom on the camera to zoom in on your subject to verify that it is actually in focus.

Make sure the images are the same. You must have one of the images blurry. If the photo is blurry you cannot fix a blurry photo in lightroom or photoshop. You’ll need to take the photo again with the correct focus.

TWO PHOTOS ARE DUE INTO GOOGLE CLASSROOM ON FRIDAY, 9/9.
