For Today’s warm up, we’ll be looking at photographer Nicolas Bouvier’s Silhouettes, a technique where photographers make people look like shadows.

  1. each photo has a person, object and landscape. they seem creative because the first one is like that dudes legs. and the ones with water are like mirrors.

  2. he uses rule of thirds in these images by changing the horizon and aligning the subject with the guidelines. This image makes me feel confused but depressed as well. rule of thirds adds to the feelings by changing the outlook. these photos are different because of the changes.

Bouvier uses the Rule of Thirds in the images by either putting the shadow silhouette in the center as the subject, or takes a nature landscape picture and puts the silhouette off the center a little bit. The images have a calming effect with the black and white, and the nature scenes. The photos have a sense of serenity. Also, the human mind likes symmetry, so the reflection of nature is something I like too.
