rule of thirds is placing an image of center to make the main focus, but there is also another point of focus in the image. typically it is a person with an object, like the dude in the article with a flower. it’s important if the image has more then one important part in the photo. and it wont work if your sharing the main focus in between the lines of focus.
The rule of thirds is a theory of when the subject of the picture is in the center, the photograph looks more balanced. The lines are used to help the proportions, and put the subject in the center. The rule is important because to the viewer it is the most natural way to look at a picture. To use the rule of thirds correctly, think of the questions “What are the points of interest in this shot?” and “Where am I intentionally placing them?” Also another tip is to remember that editing can be done after the photo is taken, so the center can be changed through cropping.

the rule of thirds effect is when you have your subject for the picture on the in the center or on the horizontal line you can tell if it is correct if it is in the middle of the picture and what it does to the picture is gives it a natrual and interactive look to the picture
the rule of thirds is when you break down the image into different parts and take place the image in in certain intersecting points. this helps the viewer of the image understand it clearly
